A Stranger in the Kingdom tells the story of a small Vermont town whose veneer of peace and tranquility is shattered when a blackKingdom County Sheriff minister arrives as the town's new pastor and, soon after, finds himself charged with adultery and murder. Young rascal lawyer Charlie Kinneson, the local favorite son, defends the minister, placing himself at odds with family, friends, and a vanishing way of life.

Inspired by true events, Stranger is a powerful, timely, and entertaining mystery, with a fresh array of off-beat characters, vivid action, and double-edged wit.
